Most NFT projects only store their provenance on chain (their trade record)... In the meantime, their art is centralized. Same goes for the minting process (and its random generation).

Theoretically, there's a hole in trust that can be taken advantage of by bad actors. In contrast, Chain Runners was generated 100% on chain, decentralized and hands-free. This distribution means more opportunity for collaboration and generated "cross-breeds" or "remixes" of projects.

What 100% on-chain really means is that Chain Runners is for the chain, by the chain.

Traits are selected all on-chain at the time of mint. The image and trait information will be immediately revealed upon mint.

Unfortunately, the Coinbase mobile wallet has issues connecting through WalletConnect that we have so far been unable to resolve. To get around, this we recommend installing the Coinbase (or MetaMask) browser extension and importing your wallet into that. We have had reports of users saying that even with the Coinbase browser extension installed they still only see the option for MetaMask. Someone who was in this state clicked on the MetaMask option and found that it actually correctly prompted them on their Coinbase wallet despite showing MetaMask. NOTE: Having more than one browser wallet can cause issues (e.g. Coinbase AND MetaMask or MetaMask and Brave Crypto Wallet) When everything is working correctly it should look like this:

We've tried pushing the limits of what we could do with on-chain pixel art. We have 13 layers , 8 colors per layer, and alpha blending all on chain. We think we're fairly unique at our level of fidelity and variety for being completely on chain.

We haven’t committed to any roadmap but we'd like to continue building around the project. We’ve built our systems in a way that allows for really good flexibility around updating metadata which is beneficial should we do future expansions. We have a few different ideas we want to explore, but our focus has been on delivering a successful and fun launch. We’ve been very excited by the response over the last few days so we’re booming with ideas. Some of the things I’m personally interested in are expanding the universe lore, expansions for the runners, community role-play participation, on-chain games, etc. These are all early ideas though.

We've really pushed the limits on what's possible with on-chain pixel art and feel satisfied with that as a technical and visual accomplishment for the project. We hope this resonates with the community because it's something we care a lot about and have worked hard to achieve. We've drawn a lot of inspiration from Blitmap, Nouns, and many others.

We're a team of designers, engineers, and artists with a broad array of experience across industries. We've all worked in SV tech companies and/or the game industry for years. Anything we do decide to build should be at a level of quality that we all can be proud of.
